Richard moved to St John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The move to St John was a great experience that would forever inspire them, not only with the mesmerizing scenery of the Caribbean Sea, but also with the permanence, articulation, and craftsmanship of the vernacular architecture. After a year of working on several amazing architectural and interior projects, drawn by the bonds of family, the two returned to New Orleans. There they practiced in their respective fields. In December of 1999, with a strong interest in sustainability and traditional neighborhood design, they moved to 30A looking to specifically work in those areas of architecture and interior design.
